Privacy Policy

AthleticsMatcher
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Last updated: September 1, 2026

This policy explains what information AthleticsMatcher collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written for the Apple App Store and Google Play. It is not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before you publish, especially after you form an LLC or add new services (Firebase, photo AI, payment processors, etc.).

1. Who we are

AthleticsMatcher (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile application that estimates which sports may fit a user’s body measurements. The service is operated from San Jose, California, United States.

General contact: [email protected]

Replace the operator line above with your legal entity name and mailing address once your LLC (or other entity) is formed. Example: “AthleticsMatcher is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [STREET ADDRESS], San Jose, California, USA.”

2. Who may use the app

AthleticsMatcher is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it.

3. Information we collect

A. Information you provide

B. Information collected automatically

C. Information from third parties

Update this section with the exact vendors you enable before launch (examples: Google AdMob, Firebase Authentication, Firebase/Crashlytics, Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare, Zoho Mail).

4. How we use information

5. Photos and camera

If you choose “Take picture” or “Upload picture,” the app may access your camera or photo library with your permission. Photos are used only to help estimate body measurements for the matching feature.

Our intended practice is:

You can refuse camera or photo-library access and enter measurements manually instead.

6. Body measurements

Body measurements are personal data. We treat them as sensitive. We use them only to generate sports-match results and to display your history in the app. This information is not medical data collected for diagnosis or treatment, and AthleticsMatcher is not a healthcare provider.

7. How we share information

We may share information with:

We do not sell personal information as “sale” is commonly understood (trading lists of names/phone numbers for money). Advertising SDKs may use identifiers for personalized ads, which some privacy laws treat as “sharing” or “sale.” See Section 12.

8. Ads

The app may display banner ads through third-party networks such as Google AdMob. Those networks may collect device identifiers and usage information. On iOS, tracking across apps or websites (if used) requires Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can also reset or limit ad tracking in your device settings.

9. Retention

10. Account and data deletion

If the app lets you create an account, you can request deletion of that account and associated personal data. Apple and Google require an in-app deletion path. We will also accept requests by email at [email protected].

After we verify the request, we will delete or anonymize your account, measurements, match history, and related personal data within 30 days, except information we must keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. Some backup copies may persist for a limited time until they rotate out.

Before launch, add an in-app control such as Settings → Delete account. Do not rely on email alone for App Store review.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

12. California and similar U.S. state laws

If you are a California resident (or a resident of another state with a similar privacy law), you may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. We do not use your measurements or photos for cross-context behavioral advertising. Advertising identifiers used by ad networks may constitute “sharing” under some state laws. To opt out, use your device ad settings and email us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

13. International users

If you use the app from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. If we later offer the app to people in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we will update this policy with the legal bases we rely on (such as contract, consent, or legitimate interests) and any transfer safeguards.

14. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) where the app talks to our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not submit information you are unwilling to store on a consumer app backend.

15. Third-party links and stores

The Apple App Store, Google Play, and any linked websites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for those practices.

16. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy where permitted by law.
